An Overview of Scholarly Open Access E-resources in Medicine and Health Sciences

Abstract Defines the concept of Open Access (OA) in Scholarly Communications. Analyses the three OA declarations commonly known as BBB declarations. Describes the types of OA publishing and explains the major advantages of it. Provides a brief over view of major OA electronic resources available world wide in medicine and health Sciences. Provides brief out line of each of these e-resources for e-journals, e-books, e-theses and other electronically available information resources on Internet. Highlights the highly used resources available in each of OA databases covered under the present study.
