Abstract
Discusses reference process and assistance provided by reference librarian to the information seeker. Describes question-negotiation process, effect of behavior of reference librarian during reference interview. Suggests how questions and answer process is essential for successful reference interview. Explains step-by-step process of answering reference questions, different modes of receiving reference questions and to reply their answers. Discusses perceptions of users, his behavior and attitude, searching processes and user satisfaction, etc and how effective communication can affect the reference process.
