Email: fahimnia@ut.ac.ir **Email: mchaehreh@gmail.com Abstract This study aimed to devise evaluation and production criteria of audio books from the producers and users’ point of view.

Methodology An exploratory sequential mixed-methods design was deployed. The first section included qualitative content analysis of semi-structured and in-depth interviews and the second section was a descriptive survey through a researcher-made questionnaire.

Results Qualitative outcomes pointed out to 4 main categories, 21 sub-categories (standards), and 106 concepts (criteria) that were stated by the producers. Quantitative findings entailed 73 criteria in following 12 general criteria that measured the rate of agreement of users with them.

Conclusions Findings indicate the assessment for audio books evaluation and production criteria derived from producers and users’ points of views. Attention to these criteria would enhance the quality of audio books production.
