Abstract
The technological developments in libraries have led to emergence of new type of service paradigms. It also has impact on reference services as electronic reference services for substantial implication for libraries. These implications keep very close to the history and mission of libraries. Reference services are receiving primary attention as librarians strategically position themselves to serve users who are entering in the library through both ways- physical and through electronic gateway. In present virtual era, libraries actively try to design, implement and market alternative reference services to meet users’ needs and retain their identity in present digital world. Now a days, many libraries are using different Library 2.0 tools (like RSS feeds, social networking sites, blogs etc.) to provide library services to the users. The paper deals with the use of Blogs in libraries to provide electronic reference services.
