Abstract This study discusses the information needs and search strategies of the co-ed college students in Shillong. It covers the different sources of information used by them and it also tries to bring out the problems they face during the search attempt for information. In this study we also tried to find out whether the students are using the library as one of the main sources of information or not, if not then what are the barriers that discourage them from doing so.
