Open Government Data: User Requirements Substantiation and Compliance in the interfaces of Indian Initiatives

Abstract

The rise of social web and explosive growth of mobile internet created new requirements of services and information at the door step of citizens. There is increasing pressure on government to ‘open’ administrative data to public. At the same time, the presentation of data in a convenient way is as important as the decision to make data publically available. The author evaluates two Indian initiatives in Open Government Data based on user requirements verification. Keywords Open Government Data, User Requirements Verification, India.
