Scientometric profile of plant sciences research in Maharashtra state

Abstract A scientometric analysis is conducted to study the historical and current status of Plant Science research in Maharashtra State during 1989-2018. It is observed that a rapid growth is seen in the field of plant science research in last two decades in Maharashtra State. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) India, National Chemical Laboratory, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Savitribai Phule Pune University were the top institutions in research in Plant Science. Most papers were published in Indian Journals with low impact factors. The article highlights different patterns of evaluation of Plant Science Research in Maharashtra State such as- year wise growth trend of documents, prolific authors and their rankings, highly cited publications, highly productive journals and international collaboration in Plant Science.
