Abstract Studies the organisational functioning and library system in the State of Odisha. The study covers library education, librarian's qualification, professional opportunities, continuing education avenues and role of library associations in the state. Concludes that development of libraries has to be considered in right direction to ensure efficient education, learning and culture of the state.
