Student Awareness of Information Literacy and Resource-based Student-centered Learning: An Analytical Study

Abstract The paper discusses paradigm shift from rote learning to resource-based studentcentered learning (RBSCL). Highlights the role of information literacy in supporting RBSCL and reports that the concept and practice of RBSCL is still a distant dream in India. Presents results of a survey undertaken to ascertain student awareness of information literacy and role of IFLA and UNESCO in promoting information literacy. Recommends integration of IL course components in syllabi across frontiers at all levels in higher education
